He really can do anything! He is an excellent tennis player and representative of Slovakia in his paraverzia, an experienced international businessman, a brilliant orator and above all, as the unforgettable Gejza would say in his favourite Svák Ragan - He is a MAN! Good and brave!
A cheerful nature and a desire to be better are the perfect combination to make him a "restless" visionary who likes to surprise. This mix of Tomas' qualities has long impressed us and we are happy that he is always willing to be talked into our inventions. As he himself writes in his latest book, I Think We'll Sit Down - his mother has already painlessly drummed into his head that girls don't fight and the weak are helped! Thank you for taking Tomas at his word and this year we can start a nice project together to help the clients of HENDI CENTER.
As a SOLIDARITY AMBASSADOR, he will help several young and adult clients throughout the year to make their stories more visible in order to motivate those fortunate enough to be healthy and independent in their lives to financially support them. The goal of each appeal is to reach as many good people as possible who know that helping the less fortunate is simply a part of life...whether those moms drilled it into someone's head or it just naturally got there on its own. 😊

Marek longs for more independence
Two years ago, 43-year-old Marek from Lužianok suffered serious injuries in a car accident that left him confined to a wheelchair. After many months of home medical treatment, he decided to go back to life and start rehabilitation at the HENDI CENTRE. For over half a year he has been coming regularly for Spider therapy and neurorehabilitation. During the intensive program, he worked on his mobility, strengthened his previously weakened shoulders and improved his head posture. Today, he can use his hands to latch on and can operate a mechanical wheelchair on his own. His exercises are driven by his desire to achieve as much independence as possible without the help of an assistant, and his dream is to one day get behind the wheel and drive again.

Lucia needs to practice all her life
The soon-to-be 28-year-old Lucia Čambálová was born of twins diagnosed with cerebral palsy. As a result of her premature birth, she also had associated eye diseases. She has had to rehabilitate consistently throughout her life to break down muscle stiffness and prevent convulsions. With regular exercise at the HENDI CENTER, she overcame her fear of standing in open spaces. Exercise has helped her to gain greater independence in everyday activities and improve her posture when standing and walking. The rehabilitation has helped her to transform from a previously cramped girl into a more confident young woman who is eager to lead a full life. Despite her disability, Lucia has completed her university studies at the University of Trnava in the field of social work and is looking for a job. Her family has become even more financially strained after the recent death of her father and she is extremely grateful for any form of help.
