Hydrotherapy

Water is an excellent adjunct to rehabilitation care for a variety of diagnoses for both children and adults.

At the end of 2021, we opened a modern hydrotherapy centre with a swimming pool and five hydro-massage baths with jets and backlighting. Hydrotherapy sessions are undertaken by children and adults during rehabilitation stays, but are also available on an outpatient basis.

In the month of March we enriched the intensive rehabilitation stays with extra water therapies. Contact us for more information!

Pregnancy exercise in the water!

Pregnancy exercise will help a woman stay active and in shape even during pregnancy. Thanks to an active attitude, the body can more easily cope with pregnancy and the changes associated with it. Pregnancy exercise also contributes to easier coping with childbirth, physical and mental well-being, and it is easier to get back to pre-natal shape after giving birth. More info and application form.

WATSU ® (Water Shiatsu) therapy is a gentle form of body therapy. It originated from the Zen-Shiatsu technique and combines elements from massage, Shiatsu, joint and muscle mobilisation, stretching, dance and meridian work in pleasant warm water.

WATSU® is suitable for everyone regardless of age. It provides relief from limited mobility or pain in the spine or joints. The therapy is popular with pregnant women and is also suitable for children and adults with physical disabilities. It is a welcome form of regeneration for children, seniors and athletes. As a way of relaxation it is appreciated by busy people who do not find time for their own mental hygiene. It gets rid of the fear of water. You can read more about WATSU therapy HERE.

HYDROMUSIC THERAPY

Hydromusic therapy combines elements of music therapy with vibroacoustics and in combination with elements of Watsu. It all takes place in the multisensory environment of a backlit warm water pool. Thanks to its fluid texture, the water perfectly envelops the body, transmits sound waves and enhances their energetic dynamics. The nervous system picks up tactile, muscular and bone sensations caused by the musical vibrations. Musical rhythms and bass tones affect postural function, balance and mobility; they are therefore very effective in relieving back pain. Instrumental melodies caress the skin and these sensations create pleasant emotions. Musical harmonies soothe the psyche and create an atmosphere of inner peace. Finally, very high notes stimulate the brain and open the door to verbal communication.

The fact that the speed of sound waves is faster in water than in air means that its relaxing effect is much more immediate and intense.
