HENDI in the centre of the action of the 12th EMIL OPEN European Youth Games

30 / June / 2023

From 21 to 25 June in Brno, Czech Republic, the European Sports Games for Disabled Youth took place Emil Open, which was full of admirable sporting performances! 12 countries and more than 800 athletes took part. Our facility is a partner of the international event, which is held in the spirit of the slogan "sport for all" for the second year and this time we were also involved in the accompanying programme of the sports games.

In the HENDI booth we helped to relax the stressed bodies of young athletes, parents and coaches

People have always been healed by touch, so we contributed with the opportunity to have a short health massage in our HENDI booth before the competition or to relax the body after a sports performance. During the two sports days our health "shaman" Adriana was available to all participants. At the same time, we advised how to exercise properly and how to use exercise aids for physical disabilities and presented the various rehabilitation programs and treatments of the HENDI CENTRE.

Thank you for allowing us to once again be part of the EMIL OPEN European Games for Disabled Youth, organized for the twelfth time by our Czech friends from the Emil Foundation.

How to capture the atmosphere of the games?

Amazing environment, mutual respect, many friendly encounters and a sense of pride in the athletes, dedicated parents and patient coaches. We were delighted with the greater participation than last year and the results of the Slovak athletes, their passion for the game and of course the joy of medal placements.

With pride and intense emotions, we cheered for the country, for the sport, but all the time for the incredible determination. As a partner of the event, we presented a gift voucher for a week's rehabilitation stay at the HENDI CENTREto 15-year-old para swimmer Alex Borska, who is preparing for the Paralympics in Paris. The face of this year's Emil OPEN Games from Litoměřice in the Ústí nad Labem region was a strong motivator for other athletes with disabilities at the Games.

And why EMIL?

Sport knows no boundaries, we want to help those who do what we do best and like Emil we give people a chance to give back to life. Everyone was a winner at the Summer Games, especially over themselves. We look forward to 2024 and seeing them again.
